The department of computer application was started in June 2001 in the science block as a modern vocational subject in I.T. Initially our department was carrying out only B.Sc computer science course. Since 2003 our department is also functioning as the off-campus study center of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. M.Sc computer science course began from the year 2004.The department was shifted to the Jubilee block in June 2007, which was blessed by Mar. Andrews Thazhath. Our new lab has two wings, one for U.G and other for P.G.
The Dept. of computer Application offer courses in Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), MSc Computer Science. The college is under the University of Calicut and is strictly adhered to the curriculum. All the courses are Self Financed. Fully Equipped Computer Lab |
The department maintains a highly equipped computer lab with new computers and Digital Equipments. The lab has more than 37 computers and a special lab for PG students with 13 computers and Internet Support. All the software’s stipulated under the syllabus are loaded and the students are given hands on training with programming and other computer applications. |

Invaluable Library |
As you know, St. Thomas has the largest collections of books among all the colleges under Calicut University, Not only this, an exclusive library for Computer Science Books are also available in the same building. |

Ambient Atmosphere |
The department is running on a newly constructed (Jubilee Block) with neat and tidy class rooms and is almost free from strikes and other divergences. It is also near to the city and meets all the requirements demanded by a quality institution. |

Course supportive Live Demos |
The students are given live demos of the computer applications using Projector Systems and they are also exposed to seminars and classes taken by experts to make them industry ready by imparting innovative technologies. |

Placement Support |
The primary objective of the department is not to impart syllabus studies into the wards, but to make them industry ready. The placement support provided by the department and the last year’s placement drives supports this objective. Last year the department hosted the placement drive for Thrissur district and almost all the final year students were placed in many prestigious enterprises. For making the next batch absolutely fit for next placement drive, the department is giving placement training by professionals for all the students right from the first year itself. |

Hostel Facility |
The college provides hostel facility for boys only and the hostel is situated in the same compound as that of department building and is easily accessible. |
